I started playing World of Warcraft back in March 2005. My first character was a mage on another server I end up moving to Cenarion Circle where all my characters reside on the Alliance side.
I ended up joining a guild called The Nalanthi because they seemed short on Warlocks. The leader’s girlfriend, also a warlock, invited me after I hearthed into Iron Forge. After helping her with rather insane Ghost Mushroom gathering at level 40 to make shadow potions she decided to make me the leader of the warlocks which got me an officer position in the guild around July 2005. At that time, the guild leader had taken a long vacation and when he returned he left the guild, it was later decided to change our guild name to Resonant Truth so that the guild leader could have his guild name back. (This month the guild has decided to go for another name and we are calling ourselves Nearly Invincible. I remained behind in the old guild to catch any stragglers. The guild has humored me in allowing me to have multiple characters in the guild, even so far as to let me bring Bankous into the guild.)
Verdin is considered my main, and was the first character that I got to 60, and then 70. Chances are if I group with you, I will have my imp Bizrot with me — as an Imp is my preference. Second to Bizrot would be my Void Walker Jhaz, but that’s probable because I am alone. I don’t often use my felhunter or succubus. I choose Mining and Herbalism as my professions to gather for my alts as Verdin was pretty much going to be my first alt to get an epic mount. Herbalism helped to fuel a speedy power leveling of Alchemy on Larus.
Rasbora is my holy priest, and my third character. I made Rasbora because at the time our guild was short on priests. It took a whole year to get Rasbora to 30 because I chose the insane idea of leveling a holy priest. I pretty much had given up on leveling a priest until I decided to get Rasbora to 35 to make moon cloth. It was not till my friend Tetrehana keep taking me to many Scarlet Monastery runs to help me level that I had realized that I enjoyed healing groups. After I hit 40 I had no problem leveling as I would often find groups for instances to group with. Prior to the expansion when I hit 60 I collected dps gear in hopes of making leveling a breeze. Currently I have DPS gear on Rasbora that rivals Verdin’s Gear.
Larus was started because I won what (later) I discovered was a crumby rare sword. At the time it seemed awesome, but if I knew what I know now I would have sold it at Auction House. My Paladin ended up being having my first trade skill to 300 that did not involve selling stuff on AH, but a source of potions and transmutes. I have gone Holy on Larus and on one occasion got to heal in Molten core run where I was 4th in healing. Even though I have gone holy that does not mean I have not had to tank, some of my gear runs depended on me learning to tank.
Pandion is proof the hunters can be fun and addictive. I meant to create Pandion as a bank alt, but I made the mistake of trying him out. This is the only one of my Night Elf alt that I have ever done all the quests from Teldrassil to Dark Shore (though ultimately I ended up going to West Fall as I always seem to do). I end up getting a Night Saber from Dark Shore, who I named Hobbes (yes a Calvin and Hobbes reference). I also have Calvin who is a Polar Bear from Winter Spring that I meant to have as a tank pet. But ultimately Hobbes has proved to be the constant companion of Pandion. I may have gotten Pandion to 60 second, but ultimately gave up on finding groups as a hunter due to all the competition with the many other hunters out there. So now he is been regulated to my farmer.
Meriones was started because I had practically given up on leveling my Horde druid Roanoryx. Horde side has proven to be a rather lonely place to be, its hard to make friends. I ended up stopping around 20 and for a while had gave up the idea of playing a druid. But boredom settled in and rather then getting Plec my mage to 60 I decided to try a Druid. I thought it seemed like a mistake; I leveled Meriones under restore, but leveling under the restore tree was no where as difficult as leveling under holy. Though after I got Meriones to 60 I slacked off on getting gear, primarily because I wanted to go balance instead of restore. Balance gear was about as common as healing plate for a holy pally. But the expansion seems to be catering to for Holy Pallys and Balance Druids. Currently I have Meriones chance to crit at 23.4% under balance, but I can see it going higher with some additional gear that I plan on getting from quests.
Bankous is what I call sign of boredom, or as I often put it “boredom is a level 60 bank alt”. For all intents and purposes, Bankous was suppose to be a bank alt and nothing more. But the drive to have a second source of transmutes, and with the expansion. With Rasbora’s large need for primal moon cloth, Bankous’s second profession is moon cloth specialty so that I can get 4 piece of moon cloth every 4 days. (What I find rather funny is that Bankous’s imp’s name is Chorot, as its rather similar to Bizrot.)
Having a second warlock has allowed me to play around with the demonology spec which has proven rather fun, and perhaps the fastest way to grind levels as a warlock. It’s my advice that once you hit 58 that you head to Hellfire as you be amazed at how fast you can grind from 58 – 60 (took me a few hours with full rest).
My other characters that I have not mentioned are Plec and Pogona. I retired Plec as I got sick of all the down time, I perhaps am the worst mage in the game. Pogona is my attempt at a shaman and I am not certain that I will actually be leveling him to
