I was not exactly sure how I was going to spec Larus, I debated on Holy / Protection. Which in hind sight seemed to be a great way to be griefed whatever spec I had choose. Beside the gear that no one was wanting was pointing towards a ret spec. For Ret I have copied my friend Jekab, someone that dragged Rasbora through Scholomance and Stratholme from 56 – 60. Frankly he was responsible for getting Rasbora revered with the Argent Dawn.
Asides for necklace, rings, 1 trinket, shoulders (currently using a epic tanking piece from TOC), gloves (non-epic plate dps) I think I am set to roll out a dps spec that will make leveling Larus to 85 in the next exp a breeze.

I have a level 20 retribution paladin. I was thinking that when I dual spec him i would go prot/ret. I was thinking ret/holy but then he’d be too soft and I want a durable player since my other is a 63 mm hunter who has 5000 hp. My paladin has 700 hp. Is that not much? I want my guys to stay on par. Well at least my paladin rocks at pvp. he took down a lvl 18 warrior 1vs1 when he was only 17 and still had almost full health.
Hello Adisfol,
Fist off let me tell you there is nothing soft about holy pallys. When I was first leveling Larus in the wet lands I took on my first elite, solo. That elite orc in the middle of a camp. I constantly attacked him while running down the hill. Soon it was just him and me. The problem is he was 2 levels higher then me. But I won. A warrior one level higher is not much of an accomplishment. My hunter Pandion took out a shaman 6 levels higher then him in battle grounds. Holy pallys can be a choice healer when it comes to fights where there is no agro table. As there is armor count is only lower then there tanking counter parts.
I’ve level Larus 10 – 80 holy, not something I recommend. But I admit its got easier the better my healing gear was. The patch in the burning crusades that turned spell power and healing power to the same thing was a big help. There were only a few elites on the path from 70 to 80 I was not able to solo as holy. I have been trying retribution while doing daily’s, but I think I can take on more mobs as holy because heals are bigger. Currently as holy I can do about 1650 dps, and 2300 dps as ret. Keep in mind my holy set is mostly epic except for my alchemy trinket, and my dps gear has 2 pieces of tank gear, 4 pieces of holy gear, and 1 blue pair of gloves.
Leveling a paladin depends on your comfort level. You can pretty much level in any of the three specs. I know many holy pallys that claim they can out dps retribution.
Here is a guide you might consider: http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/26174
Also if your going to raid make sure have pallypower.

Your not going to make many friends with your fellow pallys without it, and its also great for 5 man groups.
pallys were my favorite characters to play, soo much low lvl pvp fun
